The World’s Fair Collection is a family of fixtures handmade from sustainably sourced materials and upcycled antique paper parasols given to visitors at the 20th century’s most illustrious cultural expo.
Model No. 001 features an oil-paper shade constructed from a vintage souvenir parasol handed out at the Japanese Pavilion during the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago.
It sits atop a lacquered bamboo column with rattan wrapping and a painted seagrass base. Brass fittings, leather accents, and a cloth-covered cord complete the modernist profile.
Made-to-order by hand in New York by artist Christopher Tennant.
* As all of our parasols are individually sourced antiques, the resulting shades may have small imperfections and repairs, reflecting their historic character.
