L’Escargot Table Lamp in Coiled Brown Leather with Natural Sea Snail Shade—Model No. 025B

L’Escargot Lamp is the latest release from the Venus Collection, a whimsical family of handmade fixtures inspired by the Surrealists and natural forms of the sea. Employing the most recent advances in cool-to-the-touch LED technology, the collection features table lamps, floor lamps, and sconces made with hand-selected vintage specimen seashells in place of traditional shades, putting the organic source material behind so much 20^th century modernism front and center.

The elegant ribs of the Tonna Gallea sea snail (a North Atlantic native commonly known as a Giant Tun) inspired the sexy brown coils of Model No. 025B, an earthier-toned sequel of sorts to the original L'Escargot Lamp in black leather.

Standing 20" tall, its hand-dyed-leather-wrapped concrete base and steel column rises to a vintage matte-white sea-snail-shell shade with subtle brown and tan striations, sourced from a private collection.

Fully adjustable on both axes, heavy-duty brass swivels at the top and bottom of the column allow for fine-tuning of the shade angle and overall silhouette. Unfinished brass hardware, a khaki cloth-covered cord, 1940s-style plug, and black in-line Euro-style switch complete the profile of this hard-working, all-natural beauty.
