1933 World's Fair Bamboo Table Lamp with Parasol Shade and Coconut Base — Model No. 003

The World’s Fair Collection is a family of fixtures handmade from sustainably sourced materials and upcycled antique paper parasols given to visitors at the 20^th century’s most illustrious cultural expo.

Model No. 003 features a rice-paper shade constructed from a vintage souvenir children's parasol handed out at the Japanese Pavilion during the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago.

It sits atop a lacquered bamboo column and split-coconut base. Brass fittings, rattan wrapping, and a cloth-covered cord complete the modernist profile.  

Made-to-order by hand in New York by artist Christopher Tennant.
